Pupils from Treloweth school who raised £3,083 at their race for life

Patrick Shaughnessy, Teacher at Treloweth Primary School said, “Race for Life is a great addition to the school calendar. The whole MAT supported the event, it was a real team effort. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all pupils and staff across the Crofty MAT. Race for life is a fantastic way for children to have fun, get fit and save lives. We look forward to taking part in the Race for Life in 2020”

Sophie Barber, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for Cornwall, said: “I was absolutely delighted that the Crofty Multi Academy Trust Schools decided to organise their own Race for Life events and I was absolutely blown away when I heard how much had been raised.”

“I can’t thank the staff at the academy and the teachers and students at all of the schools enough for how they completely got behind this fundraiser and made it such a success.”

“Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our supporters, without supporters like this we wouldn’t be able to fund vital research – so thank you so much again to all the schools who have taken part and all of the family & friends who donated.”
