For the fourth year running, Primary schools in Cornwall have been recognised for delivering excellent practice in PE and School Sport as part of the Time 2 Move Primary School of the Year Awards.
Sponsored by Cornwall Association of Primary Heads (CAPH) the awards celebrate outstanding work by primary schools in each of the six Time 2 Move ambitions:
- 1. Curriculum Delivery
- 2. Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing
- 3. Diverse and Inclusive
- 4. Competitions
- 5. Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering
- 6. Community Collaboration
This year’s winners were chosen by an independent panel and used as a shortlist for the overall winner of the 2019 CAPH Time 2 Move Primary School of the Year Award.
Treloweth won the Curriculum delivery ambition meaning that they moved forward to the public poll for the overall winner. The pool was created on social media where short films of each school were shown and votes were made to find the winner.
Treloweth were then voted as the 2019 CAPH Time 2 Move Primary School of the Year!
“We are immensely honoured and proud to win such a prestigious award. Thank you to Active Cornwall and CAPH for recognising the hard work we are putting into PE and School Sport here at Treloweth. What makes winning this award even more special is seeing the fantastic work that is going on at many schools across Cornwall through the Time 2 Move framework.”Patrick Shaughnessy, PE Coordinator at Trelowth School
The award was presented at the recently held Cornwall Time 2 Move PE & School Sport Conference at Callywith College which saw close to 250 delegates from the world of PE and Sport across Cornwall attend the annual event.
