Cornish theme

Since June the pupils at Illogan have all had a Cornish theme to their learning ranging from a seaside study to Richard Trevithick, Cornish saints, the Packet Ships and tin mining. This learning has included learning traditional Cornish tales in English and writing their own version and a food technology focus in DT.
On Wednesday 14th July the whole school joined together to celebrate their learning – initially on screen and then in real life on the field where a hearty rendition of Trelawney was sung before tucking into a pasty picnic.
To have the opportunity to celebrate our learning together and be all in one place was a real treat – as were the fruit kebabs, scones with jam and cream and other goodies made by the children.

Year 2 cut their own fruit to make tasty kebabs.
