On 21st May, the second of this year’s Crofty Maths Challenges took place, this time for our Year 3s and 4s. Unfortunately Pencoys and Portreath were unable to attend however we had a couple of new additions with St Day and Treleigh joining us!
The weather was perfect for the first part of the day – the trail around the Heartlands site – where the children had to use a map to find the QR codes and scan these to get the questions. Some children were so keen to finish they carried on through their lunch!
We then had a very competitive carousel of activities, which were led by fabulous helpers from Pool Academy, where lots of cheering could be heard when an activity was completed! The final part of the day involved a Kahoot! quiz on the iPads – this time a test of speed! After all the scores were counted up, certificates (and sweeties!) were handed out, it was time for the overall results.
Although all schools that competed were brilliant, there could only be one winner, which this time was Roskear! Well done to everyone that was involved and we are already looking forward to the Year 5/6 one next month!
