The school is very proud to have been the sixth school in the country to have been awarded ‘Plastic Free School’ status. Here is a video about some of our Plastic Free work that we have undertaken alongside Surfers Against Sewage.
The video footage was filmed when Mrs Pamplin and Miss Rundle took eight pupils to London to present at an ‘All Party Parliamentary Group’ meeting at 1 Parliament Street. It was an incredibly proud moment for the school when the children spoke with confidence to a room full of people about what our school has done to reduce single use plastic, and to encourage others to do the same. They also handed out leaflets they had created to MPs.
Since then we have had a personal mention in The Houses of Parliament by several MPs and were pleased to hear that in December 2018, Damien Hinds, education secretary, said that he wants to support every school to become plastic free by 2020.
