Louise Figgins, Assistant Headteacher

Louise is a great moral builder within the school. She notices when any staff member needs support and ALWAYS finds time for them, despite her own heavy workload. She arranges termly “All staff” activities outside school to build staff moral.

She knows every child in the school and is able to offer advice and strategies when needed.

She has a great rapport with parents and it would be hard, if not impossible, to find a parent who doesn’t speak highly of Louise.

She is a dedicated teacher where children and staff have always been her priority. She gives 100% in everything she does and is the “go to” person in our school.

Felicity Blight, Administrator

Felicity has led and inspired a team of children to take part in the Lego League this year. She has gone above and beyond her role as school Administrator, introducing and teaching children the core skills of STEM as they designed, built and programmed their Lego robot how to solve a series of challenges.

Not only has she embodied the core “Community” values of Crofty, she has instilled them in the children as they demonstrated exceptional teamwork, supporting each other as they overcame the challenge of a difficult start to the Lego League competition held at Culdrose.

The event involved 30 other teams, including last year’s national winners, so it was an incredible achievement that in their first year taking part in the Lego League, Porthleven went on to win the competition and qualify for the National competition in Harrogate.

We are very fortunate to have her as part of our “Team Porthleven”.
