Jess Cafe, Teaching Assistant
Jess has been an indispensable asset to the school community, particularly in her role delivering and embedding the Healthy Movers Programme as part of the Physical Education curriculum for EYFS. Her passion for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among the children in evident in her tireless efforts to develop engaging and interactive activities that not only enhance motors skills but also foster a lifelong love of physical activity.
In addition to her work within the classroom, Jess plays a pivotal role in organising and leading our weekly running club. Through her dedication and enthusiasm, shes has inspired countless students to lace up their shoes and embrace the joys of running. Her encouragement and support have not only improved the physical fitness of our students but have also instilled confidence and resilience as they stive to achieve their personal best.
Her commitment goes above and beyond to ensure that every child in our school has access to opportunities for physical activity and well-being. Whether it’s organising sports events, leading fitness challenges, or providing one-on-one support to students, she consistently goes the extra mile to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
Abby Barnes, Teaching Assistant
Abby embodies the spirit of enthusiasm and positivity, consistently infusing our PE sessions with fun and energy. Her boundless enthusiasm and infectious smile create an atmosphere of excitement and enjoyment, inspiring students to actively participate and embrace the joy of movement. Her willingness to join in not only makes PE lessons more enjoyable but also adds a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity among students.
Abby also plays a pivotal role in delivering our essential Healthy Mover Programme to EYFS students, igniting a love for physical activity from a young age. Her dedication to providing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities ensures that every child has the opportunity to explore and enjoy movement, laying a strong foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits.
Sarah Jose, Teaching Assistant
Sarah has been instrumental in organising and ensuring that football opportunities are available for both girls and boys at Portreath school. Her passion for inclusive sports has been evident in the successful coordination of football activities, providing equal access and encouragement to all students, regardless of gender.
She has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the well being and development of our students by stepping in to deliver high quality physical education lessons whenever needed.
Furthermore, Sarah has gone above and beyond her role by voluntarily attending numerous sporting fixtures, ensuring the students have the support and encouragement they need to participate and excel in competitive events.
She is a true champion of inclusivity, sportsmanship and student well being.
Ellie, Pupil
Ellie is a highly competent and effective Sports Leader who has shown commitment by leading regular sessions and supporting girls football.
Her passion for the sport has lead to an improvement in the participation rates of girls football during both lunchtime and after school clubs. She is a role model to many and has made a huge impact on others.
Katie Tonkin, Adult helper
Katie has shown exceptional dedication and contributed greatly in coaching netball at Portreath school. She has been an inspiration to the students, tirelessly devoting her time and energy to offer a regular netball club.
Her commitment goes beyond the game; she has also become a role model and a friend to each player. Her coaching style is inclusive, empowering every player to reach their full potential, while fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and encouraged.
Derek Jose, External coach
Derek has been an instrumental figure in offering football sessions, tirelessly dedicating his time and expertise to develop or young athletes, regardless of gender, at Portreath school.
He has guided the girls’ and boys’ football teams over the past year and this has seen the students grow as individuals, demonstrating sportsmanship, teamwork and perseverance.
He is a truly valued member of the school family.
